Discovering Her Wolfen Heritage is what I call an outstanding paranormal! I was continually engrossed with the plot line and the characters. The interactions between the characters, primary and secondary, were what made this book top notch. As well as Missy Martine's amazing ability to create a world we can only find in our fantasies.
Maddie is a true wonder throughout this book. She withstands so much, yet she stays strong with just enough sass to make her an amazing heroine. Now you take Remus, just saying his name demands attention. With his dark good looks and his Wolfie status, he is sure to draw your attention to him, but I was more drawn to his and Maddie's connection. Remus and Maddie's paths crossed long ago; their bond starts from there.
I found that I was never lacking for any information or a good laugh. There was enough action and suspense to keep my interest and have me on the edge. As second level characters go, this book was packed with a powerhouse of them. Latin and Ethan, Remus' brothers, need their own story. :D
Then you have Michael, there is something with this character. I felt his loss and connected with him. As Maddie's brother, he is a bit of a mystery. At the ending of this book, he has a scene with others; a truly great cliff hanger. I found myself shocked, as I know you will, too.
Even the villains of this book live up to the evil deed role. They will have you hating them as much as I did. They will keep you guessing.
Discovering Her Wolfen Heritage is a paranormal lover's dream! This book holds it all, action, drama and a sensual erotic kick that adds a nice little touch of spice to this book on a whole. Missy Martine is HOT! HOT! HOT! Her wolfies make your mouth water and your heart pound. I know mine did.

Discovering Her Wolfen Heritage is one of the best books I’ve read lately. I really enjoyed it. The beginning was a little shaky and because of that I had my doubts initially, but I was extremely pleased as I continued reading. The storyline flowed smoothly and nicely tied up all loose ends that were thrown in during the story. I absolutely loved the characters, both main and supporting. They were very well developed and I’m definitely looking forward to reading their stories as well as I can clearly see this becoming a popular series. The danger, adventure and suspense interspersed in the story were cleverly proportioned so that I couldn’t help but want to find out what happened next as soon as possible. From the time that I picked up this book I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. Not only was the story in and of itself scintillating, but the romance was just riveting. The passion was utterly explosive and miles beyond sexy. Overall, I give this book a very enthusiastic two thumbs up!

After all she has been through, strong and determined is a good way to describe Maddie. She has gone through hell and back, from an accident as a child to being confined for years by the evil doctor Constantine.
Before her accident Maddie was introduced to a wolf by her grandfather little does she know that this wolf is her mate. Remus knows that Maddie is his mate but he must wait to claim her. When Maddie finally comes back into his life Remus must win her love and trust. As Maddie and Remus build their fragile relationship many obstacles stand in their way, from a jealous woman to Maddie’s brother Michael who has been duped by Dr. Constantine. Maddie must also learn all that was kept from her about her family's heritage. Frightened and wary she must trust in her love of Remus to get her through it all.
Will their love be enough to overcome all the evil in Maddie’s life or will Remus loose his mate he has waited all this time to claim? Can Michael ever understand and not continue to listen to Dr. Constantine?
I enjoyed the growth of Maddie from a scared and timid girl into being on the way to a woman who will be able to hold her own out in the world. Remus is a great Alpha male, strong enough to understand when he is wrong and man enough to say so. The love that develops between these two is a wonderful read. Who could not fall for Remus or his brothers? The protection they offer Maddie is from the heart, whether it be from a jealous woman or the evil doctor and Maddie’s own brother who has fallen prey to the doctor’s lies.
Once again Missy Martine does not disappoint, bringing the reader into a world full of magic and love with many characters you learn to love and hate. I certainly enjoyed reading this story and am eagerly waiting for more stories about the Wind River pack. I would love to see Latan and Ethan find their mates as well as seeing Michael hopefully change for the best. This book is not to be missed and I highly recommend it.

My Inner Wolf
Discovering Her Wolfen Heritage by Missy Martine has a great opening that feels like Little Red Riding Hood. Innocent, young Maddie meets big bad wolf, Remus, who is only big and bad to those who would hurt her.
This romance has a classic feel to it, but MM’s shifter wolves are new and unique. Remus is definitely all modern man despite his wolf instincts. He isn’t your typical dominant male character, dragging Maddie into his world whether she likes it or not. Remus forces himself to rise above his wolf’s need to dominate his mate, giving Maddie the respect she deserves and the right to call the shots in her own life.
You and I both know what a refreshing change that is from a lot of fantasy romance out there today where the author blames the male lead’s bad behavior on the fact that he’s not quite human and therefore should not be expected to rise above his animal characteristics. I’m so sick of that excuse and happy to see that there’s at least one author out there who makes her characters strong enough to conquer their baser instincts! Well done MM!
My only small grumble is that the dialogue can sound a little old fashioned from time to time, which really is nothing compared to the smoking-hot love scenes and the wonderful ending that make this book a must read.
I look forward to reading more about the other wolves introduced in this book. (I want to read Michael and Ariane’s story!)

Missy Martine wrote A Table For Three, an excellent book. I was so excited to read her latest, Discovering Her Wolfen Heritage. I usually do not like shape-shifter books, but this one was amazing!
Maddie is a young, confused girl who has spent most of her life in a mental institution. Her condition is not a mental one. Will she discover that her so-called condition is actually a gift? Her grandfather leaves her his house when he died. She falls in love with the neighbor, and she finds her long-lost friend, a wolf.
Many people threaten Maddie’s security. Will love prevail? Now, let’s talk about the sex. It is awesome. Maddie is a virgin, so the reader sees her transform from an innocent girl to a wanton woman.
There is a happy ending. Maddie finds herself, and her love for the neighbor is returned. I cannot describe more without spoiling details. Enjoy!

For Maddie, growing up was not easy. An accident brought out a talent that she could not control, resulting in her isolation from family and friends by a cruel doctor determined to keep her away from everyone. Remus had always known that Maddie was his mate but waiting for her to grow up and accept him has not been easy. When they are finally together, Maddie does not know of her heritage and Remus is not sure how to tell her. Maddie has not been in the world long and Remus is afraid his desire for her may scare her. Maddie, for her part, does feel desire for Remus but needs time for herself to be sure of her feelings. She has not, after all, been free and she must adjust to this freedom. But will she be given that time? There are other forces in play that may keep Maddie from having that time to herself.
Missy Martine has created an intriguing world with her werewolves and their secrecy. There were some unresolved issues but I feel they may be addressed in other books. Discovering Her Wolfen Heritage is A Wolfen Heritage 1 with Maddie’s brother’s story set for September. Maddie and Remus were a delightful couple. It was difficult allowing her the time she needed to adjust. His wolf demanded so much from him. Maddie had been so isolated for much of her life. She had to learn about the world and what was real. She thought her feelings for Remus may be real, but could she trust them?
Excitement, danger, passion, and love all painted on a backdrop of beautiful scenery make Discovering Her Wolfen Heritage a book to explore and discover. We will all be looking for the next book in this delightful series, A Wolfen Heritage by Missy Martine.

Although, Maddie had endured a boat load of pain her entire life; she still managed to be a very strong-willed person within. And, with the love and unconditional support of Remus, Maddie was able to blossom into the powerful woman that she was meant to be. That simple act made me fall in love with Remus even more. He courted her with the right amount of passionate finesse. The chemistry between them was phenomenal. Ms. Martine did a remarkable job of making sure that all of the secondary characters played an important part throughout the storyline, in doing so she gave just enough information to peak my interest about future reads to come. I can’t wait to get to get my hands on the next installment.
